Access your folder on the GPC server from your Windows 2000 or later version computer.

1. Go to "My Computer" and select "Tools" at the very top of the window.

2. Under "Tools" select "Map Network Drive..." The "Map Network Drive" window will appear.

3. Find the box labeled "Drive:" and assign the letter "K:" from the pull down menu!

4. Find the box labeled "Folder:" and type: \\gpc\staff\"AD-USERNAME" Your AD-USERNAME is your AD short name. Jane Doe's username, for example, might be "jdoe2". In this case she would type: \\gpc\staff\jdoe2.

5. Be sure to check the box "reconnect at logon".

6. Click Finish or OK. You may be prompted for your username and password. Type your user name like this: "AD-USERNAME"@unl.edu. Jane, for example, would type: jdoe2@unl.edu. Your password will be whatever you entered when you activated your account!

7. Click "OK" and your mapped drive should appear. If it it does not appear, proceed with steps 8-10.

8. Repeat steps 1-5 again, and then click "Connect using a different user name".

9. You'll be prompted for your username and password. Type your user name like this: "AD-USERNAME"@unl.edu. Jane, for example, would type: jdoe2@unl.edu. Your password will be whatever you entered when you activated your account!

10. Click "OK", and then click "Finish". Your mapped drive should then appear. If you are still unable to connect, call our support line at 472-5511.

Note: If you are using a Firewall program, Zone Alarm for example, you may need to "unblock" or "allow" our server to communicate with your computer. Look for : gpc.unl.edu in your list of blocked traffic.

You will find your mapped drive under "My Computer" You may now copy files into this folder and access them in the classroom when you login with your AD username and password! If you are using Windows 98 or older version please contact a Support Technician at 472 5511.
