Putting people in front of technology

Personal Response Systems (PRS)

Released May 5th, 2008

Recently acquired by einstruction, Interwrite PRS has issued a beta version of their software under a new name, Interwrite Response v.5. We are currently testing this version and providing feedback to the company. It is not certain when the new version will be officially released, but we will continue to provide information on this site. Interwrite Response is a completely different approach to managing the session data. Rather than a series of individual flat files, the new version accesses and stores data in one database file. When we confirm that this version is appropriate for use here at UNL, we will immediately send links to the download so that you may become familiar with it.

Whether or not we upgrade to version 5, this Fall, has not been determined. However one thing is certain, we will no longer be supporting the older IR clickers. All students must have a RF clicker for PRS classes this Fall. When we leave the IR behind, we will also change the way clickers are registered. In fact, there will be no registration at all. Students will simply be asked to enter their NU ID (on their NCard) into the ID field on their RF clicker. Rosters will be generated based on who is enrolled in the class rather than who has correctly (or incorrectly) registered their clicker. In this manner, the only place an ID can be incorrect is on the clicker itself. Current students will be made aware of this change via announcements in Blackboard. New Student Enrollment leaders will be providing new students with clicker information as part of their orientation activities. We strongly urge you to announce this change to your students on the first day of class this Fall.

ITG's Classroom Support team is dedicated to testing and implementing the best possible working environment for this application. As it evolves, we will continue to support your needs and the needs of your students.
